HOW TO GET STARTED

Whether you are definitely interested in setting up an ABA programme for your child, or you have questions about the approach and would like to learn more, you are welcome to come and talk to us. In a 1.5 hour meeting, our staff will learn more about your expectations and your child's strengths and weaknesses. We will take time to answer all of your questions about Autism Partnership UK's approach and ABA programmes in general. There is no fee for this meeting.

Enrolling for Service
If you would like to proceed with our services, you may fill in the intake form provided and submit it when completed. Please indicate when you would like to begin services and provide details of your child's schedule so we can identify available staff to work with your child.

Intake Meeting
At this meeting you will meet with the Site Director and/or Regional Coordinator for your area and your Programme Supervisor. During this meeting, the Programme Supervisor will conduct an assessment of your child, and a videotape will be made as part of the baseline assessment. We will review administrative procedures and answer any remaining questions you may have about our service provision. Standardised baseline testing will be carried out at this meeting or shortly thereafter.

Initial Workshop
This 3-day workshop is designed to offer the training and programme development required to get your child's ABA programme up and running. Your Programme Supervisor will provide training to everyone who will be a part of your child's treatment team. This will include parents, therapists, school or nursery staff and close family members who spend a lot of time with your child. The first day of the workshop will involve learning about ABA theory and Discrete Trial Teaching (DTT). The following two days will involve working directly with your child to initiate the teaching programmes and develop the therapist's skills.
